Description

"I remember...
I remember every dying whisper, every desperate murmur.
I remember when I gaze upon her, she looks just like you!
And I remember, I dismember!
....
I'm the masked horror on your street corner, make your mama morn ya!
I'm a night surgeon!

I remember...."

Inspired by this song: [link]
And the vocals of the first guy to sing are put to this guy.

And WHO is this guy?!

I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED!

Name: Landscape
Sex: Mech (male)
Age: late 30's (human years)
Alt Mode: Cybertronian Tank
Faction: Neutral
Family: Scar (care-giver); Riptide (bondmate); Ricket (daughter); Gigam (son-in-law); Clearsky (grandson)
Bio: Get out your tissue boxes kids, because I am the queen of sob stories!
Landscape had humble beginnings. He was born in Kaon during the Golden age of Cybertron. But, he wasn't born into what you would call a...loving family. In fact, he was considered a mistake by his parents. But, little Scape never let that bring him down. That is, until his parents dumped him at a day care center and never came to pick him up. And yet, he refused to believe that his parents would abandoned him. He was convinced they just forgot and they where coming. They would be coming back. And yet, they never did. So, some kind person at the daycare did the right thing and call sparkling protective services to come pick little Landscape up and take him to an orphanage. Landscape was defiantly weary of this place, but he hoped for the best. I mean, how bad could it be? I'll tell you just how bad.
A mech by the name of Gangler (bad sign if you meet someone with a name like that) worked at the orphanage with the younglings that where, as he loved to tell them, unwanted, useless, and a determent to society. If you haven't gotten it already, Gangler's a bad guy. Really bad. He loved the kids at the orphanage, in all the wrong ways. I'm not going into detail here because it honestly makes me sick because they're kids. So poor Landscape was there, but Gangler had other plans for the little tank. Instead of loving Landscape, he would take him aside and just preach how horrible Landscape was to the youngling's face. How he was ugly, useless, worthless, no one would ever want him, all things like that that his twisted mind could think of. But that wasn't all Gangler did. He always liked to punctuate each "lesson" with lasting marks. He would cut up Landscape's face just to leave scars to, as he told the youngling, "Make you look ugly on the the outside just like you are on the inside." And Landscape believe ever word that this mech preached to him. Soon, due to the amount of scarring on his face, Landscape started wearing a face mask and visor to hide his face.
Then, when he turned ten, Landscape decided that enough was enough, and he ran away from the orphanage. Not knowing where to go or what to do, he wandered the streets of Kaon for a few days until hunger got the best of him and he tried to steal some energon from a store. Kind of a mistake since the shop keeper was anything but sympathetic and sent his turbo-hounds after the youngling. But that day, Landscape found something out. He could fight. Even a gentle mech like Scape will fight if they have to. And boy did the little guy fight off those two hounds! Though, this only made the shop keeper even angrier because not only did he lose money because of the energon, but his turbo-hounds had just been beaten down by a youngling! Lucky for the little one, a passer by stopped the shop keeper form killing him. He paid for the damages and took the sacred, malnourished, and scraped up youngling home. This mech was a medical student named Scar.
Scar patched the youngling up (needless to say he was horrified to discover the terrible scarring under Landscape's mask when he finally coxed him into taking it off) and took him under his wing, much to Landscape's delight who came to see the medic to be like a father. And, as much as I would like to say that the story ends here and they lived happily ever after, that is no where near the case. Because Scar was only a medical student, he didn't have a license to practice but was in desperate need for cash, especially with the addition of a youngling to take care of. Landscape insisted that he could work and help Scar out, but the mech refused. The youngling had been though enough. So, for some extra cash, Scar got a job down at the Gladiator Pits in the bowels of Kaon. And, unfortunately, sometimes he had to take his new ward with him to the Pits.
While working in the Pits, Scar wasn't exactly able to keep an optic on Landscape all the time. So, the youngling wandered. And, unfortunately, he ran into the Pit Master. This mech was cruel. As cruel as can be, and what he saw in Landscape wasn't a sweet young mech with a future. He saw a new fighter. And that's exactly what he turned Landscape into. Scar protested, but the young medic's cries when unheard. The Pit Master made little Landscape stay in the Pits, telling Scar that if he valued his job, he wouldn't take the mechelt home, and made him fight. Oh yeah, he made a ten vorn old fight seasoned Pit Gladiators. So, you ask, why didn't the little guy die? Because, contrary to popular belief, most mechs, even in the Pits of Kaon, have some compassion. They would rough the youngling up, but never try to kill him. Compassion played a part in Landscape's survival, but so did every mech's odd fear of Scar. He was just...intimidating in his own sort of way. So Landscape kept fighting and surviving, getting stronger and stronger and larger and larger as time went on.
By the time he was an adult, he was a well seasoned full blown Pit fighter. But, even after all his vorns in the Pits, he still managed to maintain a kind and polite disposition. Most mechs where floored by Landscape's manners. They assumed he would have an attitude fitting his brutish form. No mech was more surprised by this unlikely gentalmech than a flyer named Riptide. Riptide was just a mech who fought in the Pits just like the rest, but the day he was lined up to fight Landscape changed both of their lives. Landscape, for some reason, took an immediate interest in the flyer. He just...saw something in Riptide that he was drawn to. Even as they entered the area, Landscape still spoke kindly to Riptide, even going as far to compliment him on his fighting form. Riptide was utterly confused. He thought it was so sort of tactic to get him off his guard. He couldn't understand why Landscape didn't want to hurt him or why he was being so nice. So he struck again and again until landing a solid hit to Landscape's cheek, effectively breaking the mask and visor the large mech wore. Landscape was terrified as his mask fell to bits and tried to hide his face, scared Riptide would be disgusted by his scars and never want to speak with him again. Riptide, however, didn't think it was disgusted. He was just...sort of mortified at the amount of damage to the mech's face. Who could do such a thing to such a kind mech? He threw down his weapons at that point, saying he would not fight and stormed out of the Pit. Landscape, worried, followed after Riptide, still hiding his face behind his arms. The two spoke for a long while, Riptide finally convincing Landscape to let him see his face. And to Riptide, the scarring didn't matter. He still though Landscape was handsome, and not just because of his looks. He had a handsome personality too, which to Riptide, was a lot more important than a few imperfections. So, the two started to date, and to this day Scar will never leave them alone about their relationship. Its just too easy to pick on them about it!
By now I bet you're all hoping Landscape's story is done, but oh no. Its not. After they started seeing each other, Landscape and Riptide also started to fight as partners in the Pits. Two against two sort of matches. And they where good. Really good. In fact, they became the undefeated champions of the Pits. Now, by this time, Landscape had figured out that the Pit Master was giving him the short end of the pipe by making him live down in the Pits and not even paying him. And, lucky for Landscape and pretty much everyone in the Pits, another mech took down the old Pit Master. Crater, a fighter to top the best, took over the Pits and because a much more just leader (or boss, whatever you wanna call him). But, that's a story for another time. So, Landscape and Riptide moved into a little apartment together in Kaon and steeled down, still fighting to earn their energon. During this time, Landscape was having a lot of self esteem issues. All of Gangler's old “lessons” where coming back to haunt him. He thought he wasn't worthy of Riptide's time. Thought that Riptide hated him. All sorts of nasty lies that couldn't have been further form the truth. At first, when Riptide noticed Landscape's strange behavior and finally asked him about it, Landscape didn't want to tell him. He didn't want the mech thinking he was some nut job hearing voices in his head. Then a slag storm started. Riptide asked Landscape to spark bond with him and Landscape panicked. Gangler's voice in the back of his head told him that Riptide didn't really want that. That he wasn't worth the flyer's time. That he wasn't worth anyone's time. So, because of all this, Landscape said he couldn't. Riptide took this in the worst possible way. He thought that Landscape had just wanted to be with him because he was a flyer. He thought Landscape had just been looking for a quick frag (interfacing*) and nothing else. Landscape was horrified that he could even think that, so he finally broke down and told Riptide the whole story of his childhood and Gangler and the whole shebang. Riptide then promised Landscape that no matter what, they'd get though everything together. And at this point, Landscape asked Riptide to spark bond, and so bond they did. But here's the kicker. They where both too shy and nervous to to much more than kiss up to this point, so when they bonded, there was no interfacing* of any kind. Purely spark bonding. And honestly they where perfectly happy with that, though Scar never lets them live down the fact that they where too embraced to be inmate with one another.
And guess what else! To their surprise, Riptide became sparked** (pregnant, essentially) with their first and only child, a little femma seeker named Ricket. Ricket turned out to be the most amazing thing for the two Pit fighters. She was a great little kid and totally daddy's little girl. Spunky, smart, fun, and damn strong. Even when she grew up, she could still ride around on Landscape's shoulders. And belive me when I say, Landscape takes full advantage of this. What can we say? He loves being a daddy!
Eventually, as she got older, she started taking an interest in Scar and Precal's (a mad scientist that is probably the only one who can deal and surprisingly bonded with Scar) son, Gigam. Gigam is what you call a nerd. He really is. He even transforms into a super computer! But you'll get his bio when I get around to drawing him. But, needless to say, Landscape was not a happy camper about this mech trying to take his baby girl away, no matter how weak of body or sharp of mind he was. And, Gigam really didn't help his own case. I mean, when he met Landscape and Riptide for the first time while dating Ricket, he just wouldn't shut up. Gigma is one of those mechs that's a genius when it comes to books and theorems, but mentally challenged in social situations. So, Landscape pretty much hates poor Gigam's guts for “stealing his precious daughter away.” But, he listens to Ricket's reasoning most of the time when he gets too upset at her, now, bondmate. Ricker and Gigam have been bonded for a good while and even have a son named Clearsky.
But, during all this time, though Landscape and Riptide where bonded and very much in love, they never once interfaced. Nope. Never. Landscape, to put this nicely, isn't exactly the brightest crayon in the box. Actually, he's probably the black crayon in there. So even when Riptide tried to get Landscape into “the mood,” the big mech just didn't get it. FINALLY, after Clearsky was already grown up, Landscape finally got the hit and he and Riptide finally did the deed. Now a days, you can hardly separate them. Though, its really not a bad thing. They defiantly love each other!
And so, even though life really sucked for Landscape to begin with, he soldiered on and kept a smile on his, though usually hidden, face-plates. And you know what? It worked out for him, because he's pretty damn happy now.

*With this interfacing, and you can hate me if you want to, but I'm talking about the 'spike-and-valve' kinda junk. And yes, spark bonding's there too, but that's so that they can be a bonded couple.
**The way I look at it, and feel free to disagree, is that when two Cybertronians spark bond, sometimes a little bit of energy comes off and that develops in the more submissive partner's spark chamber into a sparkling, or at least the spark for a sparkling. Then, a medic can remove the little spark and place it into a protoform and BOOM baby Transformer. That's my head-cannon at least.

SO YAY! That's Landscape. Gotta love the big guy :3
Hopefully you'll see more of him in the near future!
